Top 5 Best Skincare Products for a Hangover

Full disclosure: I spent NYE with my parents this year (#goals) so some of these products aren't in my particular rotation today.

But that doesn't mean you shouldn't attempt the following skin remedy. I hope you're reading this after a long night out and can use the following information to get your skin back to a place where it doesn't hate you. I've spent too many mornings staring at leatherface in the mirror and wondering what the hell happened last night.

Here are my current skincare essentials for a morning hangover. 64 oz coffee and big ass breakfast burrito not included.

Best Skincare Products for a Hangover

1. Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser

This little tube probably deserves its own post. And a grammy. And a parade in its honor. TBH I use this cleanser a lot - but its incredible at giving you a good, thorough cleanse when you may have been a little lazy removing cakeface the night before. I honestly never thought I'd meet a cleanser that cleans skin so well while still leaving it soft and hydrated.

Make sure to massage in with the knuckles for a few minutes, or whatever other application method skincare gurus are preaching these days. Follow with a toner if you're into that sort of thing.

2. Etude House Hyaluronic Acid Sheet Mask

You can mask with anything, but I do love a good sheet mask after a long night out. Don't use your most expensive masks, because those are a treat and right now you deserve a little punishment. Drinking is incredibly dehydrating, so something with good dose of hyaluronic is necessary to help boost any moisturizing you do in the morning. With any luck you'll be plumper and more juicy than the 3 cheeseburgers you ate last night.

3. Makeup Artist's Choice Gly-luronic Acid Serum

Divine skin wisdom in the ugliest packaging I ever did see. MUAC is known for kick-ass products with no-frills packaging so don't be dissuaded by the ugliness. After masking you'll need something that will lock in moisture and keep your skin looking perky. This magical substance gives insane glow and hydration, all while brightening and exfolating. The one-two punch of glycolic and hyaluronic is glorious. It's my 4th bottle. Enough said.

4. Algenist Ultimate Anti-Aging Eye Cream

I usually don't buy eye creams (this is a freebie) because most skincare brands are always sampling them. I'm in the camp that you don't technically need them, unless you have fine lines and wrinkles and are using something with actives like retinol. But I do love a gentle, fragrance free cream patted around the eyes delicately. It makes me feel very responsible and will make the 6 layers of concealer I'm about to apply look even better.

5. NUDE Skincare Progenius Omega Treatment Rescue Oil

I live for rich, fragrant oils slathered all over my face with abandon. Press deeply and get in all those little crevices that we all hate and you should be feeling better within an hour or so. This one smells a bit grassy (like the rest of NUDE's lineup) but works quickly, leaving skin soft and plush. If you don't like the feel of oils straight up, squirt a few pumps into a hefty dollop of moisturizer and go ham.

If you've followed this routine exactly, you should be feeling a little better. If not, get thee to the nearest taqueria and order said breakfast burrito and large coffee. Then lay in bed all day watching British cooking shows. Works every time.
