Best nude lipsticks for people who hate nude lipsticks

Best Nude Lipsticks for Fair Skin

Not a trolling title - I absolutely hate nude lipsticks.

Generally anything with even a whisper of a brown or beige undertone looks as if I've smeared an unappealing concoction of mud and concealer on my face. My mouth looks shriveled and my complexion instantly drab and lifeless.

Sound familiar? Glad we've bonded. I've rifled through the makeup drawers to bring you 6 of my all-time favorite nudes. These rank for both color and formula. Now, I say "nude" lightly. All of these have an incredibly flattering pink undertone that, if you're fair like me, will be lovely and wearable. I still consider each of them "nude" because, well, if I didn't I'd be excluded from an entire makeup category which feels incredibly depressing.

Moving on.

Most Flattering Nude Lipsticks

Colourpop Hype Girl Matte Lippie Stix

Colourpop Hype Girl Matte Lippie Stix

Good ol' ColourPop. Let's start with the good: I LOVE this formula. Incredibly easy to use, decent lasting power and the small point at the top makes lining lips a breeze. The bad? Cheaply made component with lipstick that tends to roll around in the tube and move every which way. You can also see the lettering has entirely faded away (as it has for every CP item I own). The color is an easy-breezy peachy-pink nude that works well with any warm-toned makeup look. Since it's only $5 I highly recommend you add this to your next Colourpop order.

Bobbi Brown Dusty Pink Art Stick

Bobbi Brown Dusty Pink Art Stick

Moving up a fair bit in price is BB's Art Stick in Dusty Pink. I know this looks like a straight up cool pink on me, but we're labeling this nude. You can deal. It's the pinkest of the bunch, but that's what I love about it...when all of your nudes feel too nude, and your pinks too pink, this is what you reach for. Divinely creamy, long-lasting matte formula with a very comfortable finish. Did I mention the easy-to-use crayon-style tip? A must have for sure.

Bite Beauty Sable Matte Creme Lip Crayon

Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon Sable

This was a mini-size I received years ago in a little Bite set and it's the only one I've kept. Most peachy lip colors end up looking orange on me, but the subtle pink-peach in this nude just looks fresh and wearable. The formula is crazy creamy and melts as you apply (in the best way possible). Not the most amazing staying power, but decent enough, and I'll take it for a color I can't usually pull off. It has the tiniest, most ever-so-slight brown pigment to it that doesn't make me look like death has washed over. Shocker!

NARS Brigette Audacious Lipstick

NARS Brigette Audacious Lipstick

A lipstick line I 100% need more colors from. I scoured this range for a nude that wouldn't look too...nude (again, with my bias) and I found it in Brigette. The pink is strong with this one, but not in a way that feels Barbie or bubblegum. One of the classiest rose-nudes I own, I wear this when I want to feel like a boss bitch. I truly feel like anyone could wear this color!

Urban Decay Naked Lipstick

Urban Decay Naked Lipstick

As light as I'll go, nude/pink wise. I'm wearing the Revolution version in the above photo, and I can't speak to the newer Vice formula, but I'm sure it's just as good. This is a nude that I think everyone needs, because sometimes you just want to wear a goddamn brown smokey eye with crazy lashes and you need a baby-pink nude Playboy bunny lip. I think you could even wear this with a deep tan without looking crazy. Flat-ter-ing. I'll usually pair this one with a liner because it seems to last infinitely longer with one.

OFRA Laguna Beach Liquid Lipstick

OFRA Laguna Beach Liquid Lipstick

It is almost impossible to find a flattering rosy-nude liquid lipstick from any brand. ALL OF THEM have brown undertones, and they're either rosy-brown mauves or browny-beige nudes. I abhor both of the above. Every time I try to wear Kat Von D's Double Dare (which is too often) I have the worst day ever. This color from OFRA is too perfect, the absolute best light nude-pink, and the formula is superb. If you haven't tried one of these yet, I promise the YouTube hype is well deserved. Creamy, comfortable, long-lasting and fades evenly. Find a 30% off code from a beauty guru you actually like and buy a few - you won't be disappointed!
