Hermes' First Female Perfumer on Breaking Into the Male-Dominated Fragrance Industry

Great perspective from a female perfumer on the state of the industry and how she took her Chemistry background and parlayed it into a career in the fragrance industry. I love beauty profiles and this one is a great read.

The Co-Founder of Colourpop on Working with Hello Kitty, the FBI & Kylie

Interesting article from Racked on Colourpop/SEED Beauty and how the company has scaled to meet a global demand in a such a short amount of time (2 years!). There's a lot about Colourpop that really bothers me (namely, launching products without much development background and tweaking formulas based on consumer feedback) but I continue to be very impressed with how much they've grown, and what they're able to offer customers at their price point.

MAC's new In the Spotlight Collection is My Iridescent High Beam Highlight Dream

Review + swatches of MAC's newest duochome highlighter launch from the lovely Tynan....very happy that they finally expanded the Strobe range, and these highlighters look gorgeous. Excuse me while I go purchase 3 backups of Soft Frost (despite it being permanent...*hoards makeup*.)

Gwyneth Paltrow Wants You to Smell Like Winter

Gwynnie waxes poetic about her first fragrance for GOOP which, I'd really love to hate, but judging by the notes I'm probably going to end up splurging on. Cypress, frankincense, vanilla and clove leaf? Um, yes please. We're to expect more fragrances next year...Spring anyone?

Why Buying Organic Makeup Isn't All It's Cracked Up to Me

Just like food, we always have to remind ourselves: brands exaggerate. This quick breakdown of how companies can achieve "Organic" status for their beauty products is definitely something to remember before handing over 2-10x more for that word on a label.
